In response to Jayne and Valentine's (2023) article, we build on their arguments that, like alcohol studies, many more-than-representational geographical accounts of consumption rely a priori assumptions, ‘expressions’, ‘facts’. To do so, embrace critique that our previous work fails fully interrogate how ‘transforms’, ‘shapes’, ‘mediates’ emotions effects. revisiting interpretation, draw Deleuze Guattari's concept territory employ the interpretative strategies outlined by Valentine de-determination unfolding moments socio-material relationships shape affective capacity bodies act sense. We illustrate presents productive analytical framework for alcohol, drinking, drunkenness.
